Question and Answer with Brett Buchanan, Owner

Q. What do you wish customers knew about your profession or trade?

A. I wish customers knew that you get exactly what you pay for. There may be someone down the street that will do it for cheaper, but I guarantee you will get what you pay for. I witness first hand other company’s prior work, and it really angers me to see what people are doing to your investment.

Q. What areas of your trade do you specialize in?

A. We specialize in all brands and types of pool tables. We are one of the only companies in Atlanta that will service antique tables. We also use a machinist level to level all pool tables. It measures down to the 100th. One single sheet of paper can change the levelness of your table. Carpenter’s levels just cannot cut it when it comes to perfection.

Q. How did you get started?

A. Started as an employee of a major chain and throughout the years got tired of doing things their way when I knew they could be done better. Changes weren’t allowed in order to make quantity over quality. Quality work creates great pride and I thrive on it.

Q. What information do you recommend to have readily available before looking for a professional in your trade?

A. It helps if you already know the brand and size of the table that needs service. If you’re looking to buy a table, make sure you know the exact dimensions of the room you’re putting it in. Pool tables take up a lot more space than most people realize.

Q. What would you recommend customers looking to save money?

A. I recommend doing your research on the company you are hiring in order to protect your investment. Ask for references. Ask for proof of insurance. A pool table is something you can keep in your family for years to come if you hire the correct people to service it for you. Saving $50 now isn’t truly saving if it costs you in damages later. Improper pool table installation can ruin a family heirloom.

Q. What certifications or professional affiliations do you have?

A. Once again, we are one of two Billiard Services in Atlanta that are members of the ABIA, American Billiard Installers Association. They check all of our references, insurance coverage, and stand behind our work and our warranty.

Q. What questions should a customer ask before hiring a professional in your trade?

A. You should ask for references. Do some research on the internet first! Check Google reviews and find out who you are calling!

Q. How many projects do you average in a year?

A. We average 8-12 pool table moves a week. We work five days a week, Monday thru Friday from 8am until 8pm.

Q. What services do you provide your customers after the work has finished?

A. We provide a one year warranty on all work. We guarantee your felt will remain unwrinkled and the table will remain level, as long as you don’t stand on, sit on, or try to move the table from its original installation location.
